We just made some new friends a couple of weeks ago and were invited to their villa Wednesday. Ian (from Wales) works with the Sultans Arabian horses at one of the palace compounds here in Salalah. Their villa is on the compound as well and looks right into where the horses run and play. The Sultan has over 400 horses there (and over 1000 in Muscat)!
They took us around the grounds and we were able to pet and feed some of the horses! The girls LOVED it! Ian and Salam (from Ethiopia) have two little girls the same age as Katheryn and Claire so they were instant friends!

They also showed me the three mares picked out for the Sultan for if and when he wants to ride. They were beautiful!

Ian offered the girls to sit on one of the older more docile mares. Katheryn and Claire showed absolutely no fear jumping on her back!

This was Claire favorite horse!
