Joel and I went out to try a new place to eat this weekend. Al Saf Saf is the name. Notice the sign. Most of the signs that indicate a restaurant look very similar to this. Some will just say "restaurant" and others will display a name. Needless to say, you roll the dice on what you are going to experience once you are inside. Some one had recommended this place to us, so we thought we would try it. We are glad we did. Whe we walked into the restaurant we were given a booth in a little room to ourselves. The waiter handed us the menu, but we no idea what to order. So we asked for the special which is a tray of different plates served in these little dishes. That way you can taste a little of everything. We were also given a plate of "chipati" which is an Indian bread. It is used instead of forks. You tear a little piece of and scoop up the food with it. I don't know what all we had to eat. I do know that it was all vegetarian as it was a vegetarian Indian restaurant. Very good eats!!!
SPICY!!
SPICY!!
The next day we just so happened to be going to some friends house to eat lunch. They are native from India. Sara showed me how to make "chipati" and gave me a packet of Indian spices to try. She said if we liked it she would get me more! Phillip and Sara go to church we us here in Salalah.
This is Sara rolling out the dough for the "chipati".
Lunch with Phillip and Sara!
