Welcome back.....
We live at the Crown Plaza Resort here in Salalah. It is a very nice location!! There is a Swedish tour company that works out of the hotel and every week there are new tourists that check-in and start enjoying a relaxing time here in Oman.
It is amazing the vast difference between the tourists and the locals at the pool.
You will NEVER see a local Omani woman in the pool or sun-bathing. The typical Omani woman (from what I have been told and observed) is very conservative about her body. They wear black abayas ,covering their whole body, and all you see of them are their eyes. (Also known as a burka). I have also been told that they wear a skin lightening cream to lighten their skin. Very different from the Swedish women who are in string bikinis (most of them too small) and are laying out soaking up the sun with obviously no SPF on beacuse their skin is as red as my hair!
You will see Omani men lounging by the pool. Usually they are in what is called a dish-dash. A dish-dash is a long sleeved robe that reaches to there ankles. If you see them in the pool, they will be wearing long short swim trunks. BUT NO....not the men tourists. The Swedish men are usually sporting a speedo (again, most of them too small), They too are usually lobster in color. I have seen some Omani children swimming. If they are girls they wear sweat suits. If they are boys they wear swim trunks. The Swedish children are usually naked. Naked and hopefully potty trained.
Like I said, a very big difference.

MORE PICTURES OF OUR KIDS!!!

Katheryn, Luke(with a funny face), and Claire

Luke has been such a joy!!! He is such a mama's boy!!
He really has me wrapped around his little finger.
He is very alert (obviously from the picture above).
He loves to smile and laugh and watch his sisters.
And his sisters love to entertain him. He is sleeping
11 hours at night and takes great naps for me during the day!
I can't believe he will be four months in just a couple of weeks!

Awesome photo set up with the three kiddos! Too cute. So, you live at the resort? Who are the people you invited to the party. Are there any other English speaking people around?

Thanks. Yes, we live at the Crowne Plaza Resort in a villa on the beach. We invited all the Lockheed Martin families, a Lebanese family we've met, and a family from Switzerland. I would guess that nearly half of the people here speak English.
